Holy Fuck How Is It 2013 Already (A Mix)

2012 was a pretty busy year for all of us, we survived 2 apocalypses, had an election, and personally I did a decent amount of traveling on a shoestring budget which I’ve been wanting to do in my life.

Musically, there were shitloads of good releases (still narrowing down my top 10 of 2012, stay tuned…) and a damn good amount of live shows which was sweet.

Here’s a little new year’s mix for you all.

MP3:
Thursday – Jet Black New Year
Bouncing Souls – The New Thing
The Lawrence Arms – 100 Resolutions
Bedouin Soundclash – New Year’s Day
Armalite – New Years
Cloak/Dagger – New Years Resolution

This is my year for sure:

A Punk Rock Christmas Mix

Well it’s finally Christmas, and at least for us east coasters, it’s almost coming to an end.  Hopefully all of you partied hard (and if you don’t celebrate, hopefully you fucking partied hard anyway).

Because I’m in the holiday spirit, here’s a punk rock holiday mix for you all.  Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to probably go watch Jingle All The Way now (Sinbad and Ahhhhhnoooold for the win) and drink copious amounts of Vitamin C so I can beat this cold and party for New Years.

A Halloween Mix For My Punk Homies

Well it’s finally Halloween, although in all honesty I’ve been celebrating all damn week listening to the Misfits (seriously… huge Misfits kick lately, don’t be too surprised if you see even more posts about them in the upcoming weeks).  I dressed up as Bruce Springsteen last night, and if I go out again tonight… fuck it, Bruce again as homage to my original home state which recently got battered by some bitch named Sandy.

Anyways, here’s a Halloween mix for all you punk rockers, so let’s get fucking weird.

Big D And The Kids Table – It’s Raining Zombies On Wall St

A Hurricane Mix To Get You Through The Powerless Days

“Penis of unyielding death” is it’s official name.

Well I was originally going to post a bunch of Misfits reviews in the spirit of Halloween, but for those who don’t know, us East Coasters (I’m in Philly) are apparently about to get battered by a storm.   The lovely lady known as Hurricane Sandy is supposed to do a number on us, and has been dubbed Frankenstorm by newscasters.

Personally, I’m used to the over-hyped, sensational, storm bullshit… but the weather pros have stated and I quote “We’re not over-hyping this storm”.  Right.  I’m more pissed because I really legit need to go food shopping, but don’t feel like dealing with the Armageddon types.

Anyway, on account I may be without power soon (or dead), here’s a little mix to rock out to in inclement weather.  You better not fucking ruin my halloween Sandy, I got a pretty sweet Bruce Springsteen costume.

Then again, Philly is offering free parking until Wed… this truly is the fucking Armageddon.

MP3:

Toxic Narcotic – We’re All Doomed
Bomb The Music Industry – Hurricane Waves
Against All Authority – When The Rain Begins To Fall
Arrogant Sons Of Bitches – November Rain
Ceremony – It Rained In My Head
Melt Banana – A Hunter In The Rain To Cut The Neck Up…
Reach The Sky – Raincheck
Disfear – Live The Storm
Every Time I Die – Apocalypse Now And Then
The Humpers – Apocalypse Girl

Punks In Vegas (A Mix)

Long time no see homies!  I just got back from a trip to Vegas for the first time in my life, and what a fucking place.  I never been there before, and for someone with A.D.D, that place is one giant distraction after another.  Pulled all nighters practically every night, my entire trip was pretty much sponsored by energy drinks and questionable decisions (that worked out very well in the end).

Everything in that city is over the top, and I can see why people I know hate it, but it’s definitely what you make of it.  I had a blast and wish I was still there (instead of cold, rainy Philly today).

Also gambling?  Strategy was to play poker late at night against people who have been drinking or exhausted.  it worked out pretty damn well.

So, let’s have a mix.

MP3:
Dead Kennedys – Viva Las Vegas
Atom and His Package – I, Professional Gambler
Bouncing Souls – Punks In Vegas
Bane – Ante Up
Less Than Jake – Handshake Meets Pokerface
New Found Glory – Vegas

Cali-Fucking-Fornia (A Mix)

Ahh California: beautiful coastlines, nice weather, and some of the strangest motherfuckers you’ll ever meet.  I just got back from a week out in Cali, spent most of the time in San Francisco with a few days in Los Angeles and I have to say… LA is a strange, strange city.  Nothing like we have out here on the east coast.

I actually left San Francisco the day 7 Seconds was playing Gilman’s… needless to say, I was pretty bummed on that.  I did decide I needed a souvenir, and what better souvenir than a black flag shirt?

Also, California is a great excuse for a mix of some of my favorite Cali bands.

MP3:
Black Flag – Police Story
Circle Jerks – Live Fast Die Young
Dead Kennedys – Kill The Poor
Youth Brigade – Sink With California
Ceremony – My Hands Are Made Of Spite
Dangers – I’ll Clap When I’m Impressed
Punch – Break A Leg
Rancid – Midnight
Bad Religion – I Want To Conquer The World
Ignite – Embrace
Carry On – Roll With The Punches
NOFX – Cokie The Clown
Guttermouth – Surf’s Up Asshole

Punk Rock Labor Day Mix

It’s that time of year again, when we all celebrate the final days of summer (at least here on the east coast…), and take off a day of work to celebrate the working men and women (and as we pointed out before, is a complete socialist holiday, so if you talk shit about socialists, you should probably go to work.)

There’s some big labor day concerts near me, although tickets are way too expensive, and the only band worth seeing is X (the others on the lineup are Pearl Jam, Skrillex, Jay-Z… ok Jay-Z might be worth seeing).  So instead, here are some punk tunes to celebrate the weekend.

MP3:
The Slackers – Work Song
The Virus – Working For The Company
Paint It Black – Labor Day
Hudson Falcons – Working Class War
Strike Anywhere – You’re Fired
Bomb The Music Industry – Jobs Schmobs
Chixdiggit – Quit Your Job
