What do you get when you mix KRS-One, Tsunami Bomb, Selector, and Voodoo Glow Skulls? Pencil’s down. The answer would be Sonic Boom Six’s “The Ruff Guide To Genre Terrorism”.

Today was one of those days. Not sure why, maybe it was the rain, or the fact it was Monday… but either way, Bane was perfect for today.
For the life of me, once I hear the song Amoeba, I can’t get it out of my head for DAYS. Heck, I even bring it into everyone else’s head through my constant singing of this early classic. Even if you’ve never heard it before, it’s probably in your head right NOW!
The Adolescents date back from 1980, and were a super-group composed of members of both Social Distortion and Agent Orange (dirty secret: I don’t like Social Distortion

The Mates of States just posted a new video for Get Better. Like everything Mates of State it’s weird and cute… in a weird way. Plus for some reason I love the sentiment of that chorus “Everything’s gonna get lighter, even if it never gets better” For some reason it reminds me of my favorite Mountain Goats lyric “Maybe everything that falls down eventually rises.”
I posted on the insane street show in Philly sometime about a week ago, but I found some videos on youtube for you guys (I’m in that mess somewhere). Oh, I also figured out the entire setlist for you nerds out there.

I’ve mentioned before how much I love Built to Spill. Lately I’ve been listening to their 1996 compilation The Normal Years. The songs are a collection of singles, live songs and previously unreleased recordings. Some of them are a little rough but I would say even for non-hardcore Built to Spill fans it’s a fun listen.
So I joined my work’s running team. I’m a little worried since I think they’re much more hardcore than me. My approach to running is… well lets call it slackadaisical…
In any case here are a few of my favorite songs to run to:
MP3: Tapes n’ Tapes- Cowbell
MP3: Animal Collective- The Purple Bottle
MP3: Leftover Crack- Gang Control
